You know it’s autumn when the farmers’ market is bustling to an extreme with people and produce. My trip to Deering Oaks park this past Saturday was exactly as I had hoped. Beautiful seasonal fruit and vegetables, flowers (yes, still) and traditional autumn fare; squash, pumpkins, apples and so much more. There were cheese makers, mushroom farmers, hard cider makers, and yarn spinners to name a few. It was a veritable treasure trove of goodness. Every time I visit, I think to myself, I really need to do this more often. It’s a wonderful visually rich market with a little something for everyone. All in Portland, Maine
Details: The market is open every Saturday in Deering Oaks Park and every Wednesday in Monument Square, from 7am-1pm through December! Portland Farmer’s Market
